INCORPORATING SOUND DOCTRINE
Titus 2:1
But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine.
The Apostle Paul gives Titus a clear, striking command: “You, however…” It marks a decisive contrast. In the preceding verses, Paul warns against voices that are disruptive, dishonest, and motivated by selfish gain. Titus is called to stand apart—to cut through spiritual noise with integrity and truth.
The Greek word Paul uses for “sound” (hygiaino) literally means healthy, whole, and life-giving. Biblical truth was never meant to remain cold theology but sound not watered down doctrine. True doctrine is spiritual nutrition; it produces a healthy soul and naturally spills over into your daily life. For Paul, right belief must always bear the fruit of right living—it must be evident in our speech, our self-control, and the quiet consistency of our character.
We are challenged by endless opinions, shifting cultural trends, and hollow philosophies, however the call of God remains the same: we are to stand firm. Choose truth that heals rather than opinions that divide. Today, let the truth of God’s Word anchor your mind and guide your actions, showing those around you what living faith genuinely looks like.
THINK ABOUT IT:
What value is correct theology in our minds if it fails to reshape our speech, our tempers, and our everyday actions?
